An agroecological gaze on sustainability from the Global South

Sustainability has become one of those one-size-fits-all shibboleths in research and policy forums despite its context-dependant very nature. Having started off in German forestry, this notion offers an ideal scenario for contrasting some traits stemming from natural resource management in Guatemala against the backdrop of contemporary agricultural sciences studies in Germany. In this short course, we aim to bridge the gap between diametrically opposing academic worlds by engaging in an honest, thought-provoking conversation on how we make sense of unsustainability under a devastating pandemic.
